On April 16th at Trinity-St. Paul's Centre in Toronto, Song for Athene will feature the voice of Soprano Patricia Rozario performing the choral music of John Tavener. The late British composer created some of the finest works of modern liturgical-inspired music to this day, and to commemorate his passing, British soprano Patricia Rozario joins Choir 21 and the Toronto Children’s Chorus in Toronto to perform Song for Athene, which was performed at the funeral of Princess Diana.
There are additional activities related to this concert, such as the Salon 21 Event at the Gardiner Museum on April 10th at 7:00pm. Choral conductor Mark Vuorinen will facilitate a talk on the music of John Tavener. There will also be a performance of Tavener’s work, which will not be included in the concert on April 16th. Ms. Rozario will be speak and perform at this event.
