Born and raised in the city of Kabul in Afghanistan, Babur started his academic adventures by attending local elementary and middle schools during the Talibanic government in Afghanistan and Pakistan. As an outstanding student with more than 54 academic awards and medals, he received a full scholarship from the Collegiate School in Virginia after showing charisma in academics and leadership at the International School of Kabul and is currently completing his Bachelor’s degree in Biology at Carleton University with a concentration in Health Sciences to prepare for medical school. His passion for public healthcare has helped him to embark on a journey that he believes will help him revolutionize public health in Afghanistan.
Babur’s social venture idea: You See Clear
Along with his business partner Rory Jipp, Babur established You See Clear ®, which is a globally focused non-profit organization that seeks to restore life-changing eyesight to those in need through the provision of affordable eyewear. Its primary mission is to not only prevent vision impairment, but also to encourage school children to resume their academic careers that they were deprived of due to medical issues. You See Clear ® also aims to distribute other medication soon after launching and expanding to other provinces in Afghanistan and other Asian, Middle Eastern, and last but not least African countries.
